NYDIS is partnering with actress and activist Luna Lauren Velez’s hurricane recovery project, #PaLantePR, to support the disaster recovery process and resilience of survivors of Hurricane’s Irma and Maria in Puerto Rico.

In December 2017, NYDIS Executive Director, Peter B. Gudaitis, M.Div., joined Velez and Jonathan Soto, Executive Director of the NYC Mayor’s Office’s Center for Faith and Community Partnerships, to distribute aid to families in Aguadilla and Western Puerto Rico. #PaLantePR is currently supporting six families on the island with their recovery and rebuilding process and is partnering with grassroots organizations to find more eligible families.
