NYDIS & the Center continue to house and support 87 Sandy-impacted households with temporary housing, storage reimbursements, and unmet needs assistance.
THS Master Lease
The NYDIS THS Master Lease Program is a comprehensive service provided by NYDIS to Sandy-affected homeowners who need temporary housing while their homes are rebuilt. Clients are referred to Master Lease by Build it Back when they are unable to find housing due to medical challenges, mental health issues, low-income/poor credit, or other compromising factors. Master Lease locates and secures safe housing, pays all costs (rent, deposit, broker, utilities), and negotiates with landlords on behalf of clients. All clients receive rental insurance policies, and additional needs (cleaning services, AC units, etc.) are provided. The program makes safe housing a reality for Hurricane Sandy’s most vulnerable survivors.
